LARC Training

Funding now available for training in LARC delivery
We welcome your interest now!

HED are working with Derbyshire County Council and Derby City Council’s Public Health teams to provide Faculty registered trainers to help increase local capacity to deliver Long Acting Reversible contraception (LARC) – both subdermal contraceptive implants and intrauterine contraception in general practice.
Together we can support costs towards training and Faculty registration and are keen to encourage practice nurse staff as well as doctors to undertake LARC training. Funding is limited to this year and is available for general practice staff in Derbyshire and Derby City Practices
In considering your need for training, please assess your practice position:
·       No. of staff already trained to deliver coils and implants and whether there is a need for additional training (long term demand must be assured to enable staff competency)
·       Your practice agreement and commitment post-training to offer LARC eg. dedicated delivery of LARC, promotion and so on.
You may wish to read through Faculty requirements pre-training: https://www.fsrh.org/education-and-training/
