Nick Hurst
Paramedic ambassador
Hello, my name is Nick and for the past 3 years I have worked as an Acute Care Practitioner within GP surgery. I also work part time as a Senior Lecturer in Physician Associate studies.
I started my career with EMAS in 2003 and qualified as a Paramedic. I spent 5 years working as an Emergency Care Practitioner and Clinical Service Lead within an urgent care centre and gained the PGCert in Advanced Practice in Primary Urgent Care.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, rock climbing and DIY.
I am hoping to develop awareness of paramedics within primary care and expand the role within Derbyshire.
Tom Camwell
Physician Associate ambassador
I am a Physician Associate who qualified in April 2018 from Sheffield Hallam University. I recently joined Lister House GP surgery in Derbyshire. Alongside my clinical work I have been a Physician Assocaite Ambassador for Yorkshire, Humber Coast and Vale. I have been able to make a real impact with the progression of the PA role, focusing on improving PA posts within Primary Care and I look forward to expanding the role within Derbyshire.

Jane Thorpe
Pharmacy Technician Ambassador
Hello, my name is Jane and I have been working as a pharmacy technician in general practice for 9 years. I have been qualified for 22 years and also have experience of working in hospitals and primary care in various roles.
I feel privileged to be able to promote the role of pharmacy technicians in general practice, recruit apprentices and help those in post with further education and peer support.
It is an exciting time for pharmacy technicians especially in general practice. We can have a huge impact and because of this the role is becoming widely recognised and appreciated.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my partner and two sons, you can usually find me on the side-lines of a football pitch! I also enjoy keeping fit, cooking, and baking.
